Connecting Walls

This activity is adapted from the Connecting Wall round of the BBC2 game show Only Connect, in which contestants try to find connections between seemingly unrelated clues. You will be given a wall of 16 clues and must figure out a perfect solution, consisting of four groups of four connected items. Beware of the red herrings! 😉

Ready to face the Connecting Walls?

Here is an example so you can try and see how the game works. Click on the clues to select groups of four. Once you solved the wall, click on the black boxes to reveal the connections. If you think this was easy, play another one below! You can even create one yourself and earn a bonus point!

Watch out, there will be traps, some clues may fall into more than one category, but there is only one perfect, correct solution, just like in a sudoku. For every group you identify, you get a point. You will also get an extra point for each connection you find. And finally, if you get it all right, you get two bonus points, making it a total of 10 points.
